Good points, I would add also a point to selecting a technology that you know you can support/maintain or that we know how to use it so we do not need to think about it. It’s a kind of trade off - looking at skills in organization, looking at how mature technology is. More mature technology means that it’s already battle tested and there are communities and solutions that will help us fix our issue if needed. If not, we need to have time to investigate and fix if needed a problem that others have not yet encountered. If we agree and accept this risk then it’s fine.
